Carpool Addict Event in Brussels

Carpool Addict Event in Brussels

On February 14th, 2019, Taxistop hosted the Annual Carpool Addict Event, which was aimed at rewarding employers for their continuous effort to promote ride sharing within their organisation. While the Carpool Addict Label already existed for organisations in Brussels and Wallonia, Taxistop has now been able to extend the label to Flanders with support from the SHARE-North project.

On the 6th October 2017, TripshareSEStran was awarded the Charted Institute of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) AMCO Environmental Award 2017/18. SHARE-North Partner, Lisa Freeman was happy to accept the award on behalf of the South East of Scotland Transport Partnership. Upon receiving the award, she said, “We would like to thank the CIHT for this award, it is great to see the work we do being recognised but more importantly our thanks go to everyone in the Tripshare community, by getting involved they are the ones that make the difference!”

Smart commuting: Bringing South West Flanders up to speed and into the future

Full house at Leiedal, the intercommunal body for regional development in 13 cities and municipalities in South West Flanders. On 15th December 2016, Leiedal hosted its annual ‘Samenkomst’ or gathering: an inspirational meeting by and for the region. Traditionally, it is an evening on which regional policy makers, stakeholders and contributors are invited to be inspired in a wide number of areas. In a mix of workshops and informative markets, one that generated the most interest, was the session on sustainable and shared mobility at business parks.

“The Future is Shared” Event in West Yorkshire

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority hosted an ACT Travelwise event on December 6th, 2016 in Leeds, titled “The Future is Shared”. Alistair Kirkbride and Antonia Roberts from Carplus and Bikeplus (UK) presented on the rapidly evolving world of car clubs (aka car-sharing), ride-sharing and bike-sharing. Carplus and Bikeplus lead in maximising the social, environmental and economic benefits of shared transport by accelerating uptake of best practice and nurturing innovation across the UK. The event with 40 members from the West Yorkshire Travel Plan Network focussed on assessing the impact that mainstreaming shared mobility options could have on travel behaviour and how these schemes can contribute to Mobility as a Service.

The Interreg VB North Sea Region Project “SHARE-North” (Shared Mobility Solutions for a Liveable and Low-Carbon North Sea Region) was approved for funding by the Interreg North Sea Region Steering Committee on November 10th, 2015 and officially began on January 1st, 2016.
