Car-Sharing and Public Transport – The Perfect Marriage!
By 2025, almost 60% of the world’s population will be living in urban areas. Congestion, lack of public space and high level emissions are just three problems we will have to overcome. It’s obvious not every household can own one or more private cars in those cities. “Public transport will remain the backbone of cities”, explained UITP Secretary General Alain Flausch at the 2016 UITP congress in The Hague. But if we want to benefit fully from mass transit systems, modal shift policies must be revitalized and we have to embrace the sharing option.
